About Abalone Farming
The abalone shell used in making our jewelry is farmed off the Island of
Cedros, located just off the coast of Baja California. It is seeded
in
barrels. When the abalone reaches a certain size, it is placed in the ocean
by divers. Abalones grow about an inch per year. When it reaches maturity,
it is then harvested and sold.
This abalone is NOT an endangered species. Please see abalone
